Ruby zoisite is a gemstone formed from the mixing of red ruby and green zoisite during crystal formation. Ruby’s distinct red color comes from chromium present in its aluminum oxide crystal lattice. They are one of the few fluorescent minerals due to the unique electronic structure of the crystal and fluoresce under a black light to reveal a bright red neon glow.
All pieces are created from start to finish in my home studio, nestled in one of Richland's historic "Alphabet Houses". The JH designs atomic logo is a nod to the history and science of the area.
